Olive Oil

The slow base a cold-process bar is built on.

Also known as: Olea europaea fruit oil

What it is

Oil pressed from the fruit of the olive tree, high in oleic acid and naturally rich in squalene and polyphenols.

Why it's in the formula

It saponifies into a mild, low-depleting soap with small, creamy bubbles. It is the reason the bar cleans steadily instead of harshly, and why skin does not feel scoured afterwards.

Where it comes from

Cosmetic-grade pressed fruit oil, used as the majority oil in the bar rather than a token inclusion.

What to know

Very well tolerated. Rinses clean; no residue left sitting on skin.
