What it is

A plant-derived conditioning agent made from rapeseed or colza oil. Despite the name it is not a sulfate surfactant; the methosulfate part is a counter-ion, not SLS.

Why it's in the formula

It gives conditioner its slip: it binds lightly to damaged, negatively charged hair so a comb passes through instead of tearing. Mild enough for fine hair, strong enough for coarse.

Where it comes from

Rapeseed-derived, readily biodegradable, cosmetic grade.

What to know

Low irritation potential and one of the gentlest cationic conditioners available. Not a sulfate; not depleting.
