The reason it pours black and rinses clear.
Also known as: Charcoal powder · Bamboo charcoal powder
- What it is
- Bamboo charcoal powder: carbon from bamboo, heated until its surface becomes riddled with microscopic pores. That porous surface is what gives it adsorbency; one gram carries an enormous amount of surface area.
- Why it's in the formula
- It binds product build-up, excess oil, and grime by adsorption, then leaves with the rinse water. In our formulas it is the pigment and the mechanism at once; the color is the formula doing its job, not a dye added for drama.
- Where it comes from
- Bamboo carbon, cosmetic grade, milled fine enough to suspend in a wash rather than scratch.
- What to know
- Rinses clear off skin, tile, and towels. Keep it out of eyes; it is a cleanser, not a treatment to leave on.
